Steve Hammonds, Supervisor (Administrative Services)
Meet Steve Hammonds, who currently serves as a Supervisor on our Administrative Services team. This is the face of a Tenet hero.
Anyone who works with Steve will tell you that he’s always smiling, performing his job with the utmost integrity and professionalism. He has worked in many different capacities since what he describes as a “great journey” began with Tenet on August 8, 1995. He has supported the mailroom, facilities management, catering, security and disaster management and recovery, to name just a few. He has held roles of increasing responsibility and leadership during his 25-year career with Tenet, earning distinction for his many contributions to the organization.
During COVID, Steve has been an integral member of the team, serving as an essential worker since the early days of the pandemic. Among his many responsibilities and on top of his every day duties, Steve and his team have worked to ensure our building remains safe with proper disinfection protocols and procedures, including securing sanitization stations, additional products and backup supplies. He has also worked to post important COVID signage throughout our HQ, which is paramount in educating team members on appropriate protocols.
In Steve’s own words, “Taking responsibility pertaining to my coworkers’ safety gives me a great sense of pride.”
Steve is revered and highly respected by all who have the privilege of working with him. This includes his direct team and many others who recently surprised him with a socially distanced celebration to commemorate his 25th anniversary with Tenet. As part of this, Steve was presented with an honorary Community Built on Care “Leadership” award by Marie Quintana, Tenet’s EVP of Communications and Chief Marketing Officer.
Ron Rittenmeyer, Tenet’s Executive Chairman and CEO, noted, “Because of Steve, our caregivers can fulfill our mission. Every role matters, and people like Steve are the heart of this organization. We are grateful to him, and we celebrate his many accomplishments.”
